This weekend is a huge one for the Premier League title race. Manchester City and Liverpool are both in action with the latter facing their most difficult remaining fixture of the season. Entering the weekend, the Reds hold a narrow two-point lead but City has played one less match. Meanwhile, Chelsea is desperate to stay in the top four to guarantee a spot in next year’s Champions League.
Liverpool vs. Chelsea

Location: Anfield, Liverpool, England

Both clubs are coming off mid-week Champions League quarterfinal first legs with mixed results. Liverpool is well on their way to a second straight appearance in the last four after defeating Porto, 2-0. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s side has some work to do after falling to Tottenham Hotspur, 1-0.
Liverpool’s last loss domestically came at the hands of City in their first match of the new year. They must get a favorable result at home against Chelsea if they are to keep their title hopes alive. City has been in sensational form in the league, winning their last eight. While the race is close, the forecast for a slip-up by City doesn’t seem great.
Chelsea, on the other hand, is mired in a heated battle for a Champions League spot next year. They also fared very well in Europe during the week as they grinded out a 1-0 away result against Slavia Praha in the Europa League quarters. They enter the weekend sitting third in the league table, but only three points ahead of fifth-place Arsenal. While their title hopes are dead, they cannot afford a loss either.
The stakes are high for both sides, which means this should be one intense affair. Anfield will be rocking in hopes their beloved Liverpool can take a step closer to winning the Premier League for the first time.
